Welcome to our Grilling the Outdoors blog. Here you will find some great recipes, video clips, photos, tales, and random nonsense as we go through our 2012 fishing and hunting seasons. This initial blog will introduce you to team GTO and prepare you for our upcoming YouTube series. So here we go let's answer a few questions for you. What is Grilling the Outdoors? Grilling the Outdoors is our team of die hard outdoorsman who like to not hunt for the kill or for the trophy, but for the love of preparing and cooking our harvest. We also like to just get away and enjoy nature sometimes too. We love the outdoors so much we just purchased land surrounded by the PLumbottom State Forest. Checking out the YouTube channel you will discover the land and what it has to offer the same time we do. Who is Grilling the Outdoors? The four usual suspects you will encounter are Billy, Josh aka Puggy, Gary, and Max. Guest appearances by random friends, family, and people we might not even know. More on the main 4: Billy- Paramedic by day Bill is an avid outdoorsman on his off time. A 15 year veteran of the fire service, Bill also loves to cook and develop recipes. Most of the twitter (@grillingGTO) recipes are posted by him. Not only does he enjoy cooking the harvest, but like most of his GTo teammates loves the butchering and processing aspect of wild game hunting. He also enjoys bow hunting and getting out hiking and fishing. Josh- Recent restaurateur turned industry worker Puggy is a well seasoned hunter with over 20 years of experience in the woods of WNY, southern tier NY, and northern PA. Josh is also 16 year veteran of the volunteer fire service focusing his talents lately on wilderness search and rescue. He enjoys cooking and the butchering process as well. An avid, avid turkey hunter Josh also enjoys bow hunting fishing and is working on becoming a NY state licensed guide. Gary- Town highway worker and the local fire chief Gary has a vast many years of outdoor hunting experience as well. His family's amazing farm is the backdrop for most of our deer and turkey hunts. The number and quality of animals on the Baehr farm is truly impressive. I have been hunting there for seven years now and have personally seen 160" 8 point bucks taken from that property regularly. Gary will also be helping us with site work on the newly purchased land and participating in many hunts. Maxwell- Max is the newbie to the bunch, but after laying 2 impressive white tails down on opening day last year the fire is lit in his belly for more. Max is an emergency services dispatcher by day and lives in the city of Buffalo, but loves to get back to his roots in Akron, NY on his off time. An avid hiker max rule enjoys gun hunting for whatever is in season. Where can I find Grilling the Outdoors episodes?
